I made this cake for a friend's birthday. All she wanted was "something cute with fireflies". I made the cake from scratch, used homemade buttercream frosting and the little fireflies are made from store bought gum paste. It was pretty easy. Too bad I had a little person who kept poking it so the finish isn't totally smooth.

this came out awesome! how did you get the butter cream icing so smooth?
You got the buttercream so smooth, the whole thing looks like fondant. Very fun! Love the dragonflies. :)
