Sidewalk Chalk
- 1 cup plaster of paris
- 1/2 cup cool water
- 3 Tbsp liquid tempera paints
- Protect your work surface with newspaper or butcher paper.
- Collect your supplies: Clean cups, stirring sticks, toilet paper tubes, plaster of paris, tempera paints, etc.
- Pour plaster of paris into a clean container (like a cofee can or ice cream tub). Store the unused plaster of paris in a ziploc back inside the original box.
- Using a disposable stir stick (or popsicle stick) stir the water into the plaster of paris
- Add 2 Tbsp tempera paint and mix wel. Don't miss the bottom of the container. Add another Tbsp of paint if needed.
- Add a bit more water if mixture begins to thicken before it is mixed all of the way.
- Stir well and pour into small containers. (dixie cups, toilet paper tubes with foil on the bottom, etc.)
- Once dry, peel the container off of the chalk and have some fun!
**Do not rinse the plaster of paris into your sink. It will solidify in your pipes. It is best to do the entire project using disposable supplies.
